My 1974 short story "If Ever I Should Leave You" will be reprinted in an upcoming Library of America volume, The Future Is Female 2: 25 Classic Stories by Women Writers of the 1970s, edited by Lisa Yaszek, in October 2022.
The Future Is Female can be ordered now and will be in bookstores on October 18, 2022.
Thanks to Centipede Press publisher Jerad Walters and my agent Richard Curtis, my year comes to a close with a contract for a comprehensive collection of my short fiction in Centipede's Masters of Science Fiction series. I am in superb company: Other volumes in this series feature Kate Wilhelm, Jack Dann, James Patrick Kelly, Fritz Leiber, Robert Sheckley, and Richard Wilson. A happier holiday season than I had expected!
...with my book at the top of this list of "21 Books Like The Handmaid's Tale." I'll add only that I'm in good company and these novels have their own distinctive merits. Not much else to post except that I am still writing but more slowly these days.
My 1981 story "Out of Place," originally published in Rod Serling's Twilight Zone Magazine, has just been reprinted in the anthology The Year of the Cat: A Cat of Feral Insitincts, now available as a trade paperback and as an ebook from all of these ebook stores.
